Jerky acceleration is usually one of three things: ignition system, fuel delivery, or transmission shifting. The exact pattern of jerk tells us which.
In our network we see these in roughly this order. Diagnostic comes first — never authorise a repair without a written diagnostic report.
Jerk + check engine light + maybe rough idle. Typical at 60,000-1,00,000 km. Plug + coil change (₹2,500-9,500) is standard.
Hesitation under load. Fuel filter (₹800-2,500) replacement first; injector cleaning (₹3,500-7,500) if persists.
Surge or jerky response. Cleaning + adaptation re-learn often resolves before sensor replacement.
RPM rises but speed doesn't. Low ATF or worn clutch packs. ATF service (₹3,500-12,500) sometimes enough; rebuild much more.
Manual: clutch wear or hydraulic issue. Auto / DCT: low ATF, worn solenoids, or mechatronic ECU fault. Diagnose with transmission-specific scan tool.
On highway: yes — power loss can be unpredictable. Get diagnosed within a few days, not weeks.
Spark plugs + coils: ₹3,500-12,000. Fuel system: ₹2,500-9,500. Transmission service: ₹6,500-18,000. Always start with the OBD-II scan ($0-1,500).
