Manage a customer's fleet (multiple vehicles)

One customer record can own many vehicles — useful for families, fleets, and businesses. Vehicles are stored under the customer, not the appointment, so service history follows the car forever.

Opening the fleet

Customers → click the customer → Fleet tab. The page lists every vehicle linked to them with: registration, make/model, year, vehicle type, vehicle image, total visits, and last visit date.

Adding a vehicle

Click Add vehicle. Required:

  • Registration — the plate. Used for search, vehicle passport, and pre-fills on later estimates.
  • Make & model — pick from the brand picker, or free-type. Tied to the brand-specific service templates if you've set those up.
  • Year — manufacture year.
  • Vehicle type — hatchback, sedan, SUV, luxury, sports, classic, EV, hybrid, CNG, motorcycle, scooter, mini-truck, truck, bus, tractor, rickshaw.

Optional but useful:

  • VIN — for warranty claims and dealer integrations.
  • Image — speeds up identification when the same family has multiple similar cars.
  • Engine number, fuel type, transmission — surfaced on the workboard card and in the passport.

Editing

Click any vehicle row → edit drawer. All fields editable. Registration changes are noted in the audit history.

Don't delete vehicles with history. If a vehicle has past invoices or estimates, deleting breaks the link. Instead, mark Inactive — it disappears from the picker but history is preserved.

Transferring a vehicle to another customer

For a sale: open the vehicle → Transfer ownership → pick the new customer (or create them inline). All future service goes under the new owner; past history stays archived under the old owner with a "Transferred to ..." note.
