The Vehicle Passport — service history customers can see

The Vehicle Passport is a complete service-history timeline for one car, searchable by registration plate or VIN, optionally shareable with the owner.

What's in it

Every record from your shop for that vehicle:

  • Date, services performed, parts used, total cost.
  • Mileage in / out (so you can show how the car aged).
  • Mechanic notes & inspection condition: good / monitor / critical per component.
  • Inspection photos uploaded with the job.
  • Next-recommended service (driven by your Service Intervals — see Settings).

Top bar → Vehicle Passport → search by registration or VIN. Partial matches work. The result is a single-page timeline.

Why it matters

The Vehicle Passport is a long-form record of every service this car has had at your shop. When the owner sells the vehicle, the passport is the receipt that proves it was maintained — higher resale value, and repeat business when they buy their next car.

Vehicles serviced at other garages

If a customer brings in a car that has prior service at another Autodots-using garage, the passport shows a note: "This vehicle has X service record(s) from other garages." It's a heads-up that there's history elsewhere — useful context when planning the work, even if you can't see those records in detail.
